The Sunset Canvas

Sometimes, to truly rest, you don’t need to travel far. Sometimes all you need is a place where the noise in your mind becomes a little quieter. For me, one of those places is Pirshaghi Beach. Without going too far from Baku, you can spend a few hours by the sea and feel more refreshed than after a long trip. Especially at sunset. As the sun slowly goes down, Pirshaghi begins to change. The sky turns from yellow to orange and pink. When these colors reflect on the sea and the wet sand, it feels as if a huge painting is being created in front of you. With every wave that comes and goes, the picture changes again. For me, watching this is a kind of meditation. After a while, the thoughts you carried throughout the day start to fade into the background. What remains is the sound of the sea, the wind, and the sun slowly disappearing beyond the horizon. You are doing nothing, yet somehow your mind is resting. For creative people, this place can feel even more inspiring. If you are into photography, you notice the light. If you paint, you notice the colors. If you write, you take the feeling of calmness with you. Nature gives you a ready-made composition. Another beautiful side of Pirshaghi is its Golden Sand beach. At sunset, when the sunlight falls over the sand, the shore really does take on a golden shade. Pirshaghi has long been known as a seaside recreation area, and its sea air and open coastal atmosphere create a pleasant environment for rest and relaxation. For people with asthma or other respiratory conditions, however, it is better to see this as a relaxing seaside environment rather than a medical treatment. What makes Pirshaghi special to me is simple: it is affordable, it is close, but the feeling it gives you can make you feel as if you have travelled much farther away. Even if you are visiting Baku as a tourist, it is worth giving one evening to this place. Sometimes the most memorable moment of a trip is not in front of a famous monument, but sitting on the sand and watching the sun set over the Caspian Sea. Pirshaghi — a place to get away without going far.
