Goygol

Two years ago, during our trip to Ganja, we decided that since we were already so close, we couldn't miss the chance to visit Lake Goygol. After entering Goygol National Park, all private vehicles are restricted from continuing further. We boarded one of the park's Niva vehicles, which took us up the mountain toward the hotel located near the lake. The drive itself is an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by dense forests, fresh mountain air, and ever-changing scenery as you climb higher, it truly feels like you're leaving the ordinary world behind. When we arrived at the hotel, the first thing that caught our attention was the incredible silence and the pristine natural surroundings. As soon as we opened the window of our room, we were greeted by a breathtaking view—it almost felt as if the lake was stretching right toward us. The crystal-blue water, the mountain silhouettes, and the forest reflected perfectly on the surface created a scene so beautiful that you wanted to save it in your memory rather than through a camera lens. Simply looking at the lake from our room was calming. It felt as though every worry disappeared the moment you woke up and looked out the window. The closer you get to Lake Goygol, the more impressive it becomes. The water is so incredibly clear that you can easily see the stones resting on the lakebed. From a distance, the lake constantly changes between brilliant shades of blue and deep emerald-green tones, depending on the light. What impressed us the most, however, was how carefully this natural treasure has been preserved: * The entire area is exceptionally clean. * Noise is strictly limited. * Access to the lakeshore is carefully regulated. * Nature remains almost completely untouched. For these reasons, Lake Goygol truly deserves its reputation as one of the best-preserved lakes in the region. If your travels ever bring you to Ganja, make sure to visit Lake Goygol.
