This time, our journey took us to Ismayilli, where we explored Talıstan Village and the historic town of Basqal. Honestly, spending a few days surrounded by nature and away from the noise of the city was exactly what I needed.
The mountain scenery was what impressed me the most. As the sun began to set, the colors of the mountains changed so beautifully that it felt like watching a different painting every few minutes. By evening, the colors in the sky and the peaceful atmosphere created a truly unforgettable setting.
The cottages where we stayed were also very comfortable. Every morning, we opened the windows to nothing but the sound of birds singing. Surrounded by tall trees, small ponds, and fresh mountain air, it was the kind of place that made you forget about returning to the city.
One of the most memorable moments of the trip was gathering around the Novruz bonfire. People were drinking tea, chatting, and enjoying the warmth of the fire. It was a simple experience, but that simplicity made the entire evening feel warm and genuine.
The countryside along the way was just as beautiful. Green fields, grazing horses, traditional village houses, and settlements surrounded by mountains created a sense of nostalgia, reminding me of childhood memories.
Basqal stood out with its unique sense of tranquility. Time seemed to slow down there. There was no need to rush anywhere—simply walking through the streets, taking in the surroundings, and enjoying nature was more than enough.
This trip reminded me once again that you don’t have to travel abroad to enjoy an unforgettable getaway. Azerbaijan is full of hidden gems where you can truly relax while appreciating the beauty of nature. For me, Ismayilli is certainly one of those special places.
